At least five Naxals were killed in an encounter with the police in Chatra district in Jharkhand. According to the Jharkhand police, two of them were carrying rewards of Rs 25 lakhs each, and two were carrying rewards of 5 lahks each.

The police has recovered two AK-47 rifles recovered. Search operation is still on.

“The five naxals killed are identified as Gautam Paswan and Charlie. Both of them were SAC members and carried a reward of Rs 25 lakh each,” Jharkhand police said, as reported by ANI. Nandu, Amar Ganjhu, and Sanjeev Bhuiyan were sub-zonal commanders & carried a reward of Rs 5 lakh each. AK 47, Insas rifles recovered. Further operation is on, it added.
