The police have arrested an accused, Brijesh Singh, who is a resident of Mogra, in connection with Das’s death.
A day labourer by profession, Das, who lived in rented accommodation, was allegedly tied to a tree and beaten up on suspicion of theft of a bicycle in the area on Friday morning.
Locals claimed that the victim’s body was lying in the field of Nahunpara on Saturday morning.
