The deceased identified as Vanshika Chopra died on the spot after the truss fell on her and her co-model identified as Bobby Raj received severe injuries. Raj was shifted to the hospital for medical treatment.
The tragedy occurred at about 1:30 pm during a fashion show in a studio in Noida’s Film City area, the police said on Sunday.
The police questioned the show’s organisers and the individual responsible for setting up the lighting truss that collapsed. The police said that a case had been registered and the dead body had been sent for a medical examination.
According to the Noida Police show organisers have been arrested by the strict action will be taken against them.
According to Noida Additional Deputy Commissioner Police (ADCP) Shakti Awasthi, Vanshika Chopra was killed by falling off a truss during a fashion presentation in a Film City studio.
The iron pillar was installed for lighting purposes but it fell on stage, killing the model instantly, said the police.
Awasthi said that the family members of the 24-year-old model were informed about the incident and legal proceeding have been launched. “Vanshika’s death has been informed to her family members. The body has been sent for postmortem.
