Final WPL 2023 stats: Mumbai Indians defeat DC by 7 wickets

Mumbai Indians defeated Delhi Capitals by seven wickets in the WPL 2023 championship game on Sunday at Mumbai’s Brabourne Stadium. MI achieved 134/3 in 19.3 overs, a goal of 132 runs, thanks to an undefeated half-century by Nat Sciver-Brunt. Sciver-Brunt scored 60 runs off 55 balls in an unbroken effort that featured seven fours. Harmanpreet Kaur, the skipper, performed a key 37-off-39-ball innings with five fours during this time. For Delhi, Jess Jonassen and Radha Yadav each claimed a wicket.Meg Lanning led the way for DC with a knock of 35 runs off 29 balls, packed with five fours, as they initially reached 131/9 in 20 overs. But the DC didn’t get any help, and a freak run out cost her her wicket. Shikha Pandey and Radha, the tailenders, put forth a solid last partnership to stay undefeated as wickets started to fall. With just 17 balls, Shikha scored 27 runs, including three fours and a six. Radha, on the other hand, scored 27 runs off 12 deliveries, including two fours and two sixes. As a result of her three wickets, Amelia Kerr’s two dismissals, and Issy Wong’s three, Hayley Matthews won the Purple Cap race.
