The rare incident was witnessed by all at the police station. Venkatesh welcomed his daughter to the police station with a bouquet of flowers.
This transition of power marked a significant moment for the father-daughter duo, highlighting the passing of the baton from one generation to the next. Along with the flowers, Venkatesh also passed on his duties as PSI to Varsha.
Venkatesh served the Karnataka Police for 16 years before retiring. In 2010, he took on as PSI after successfully clearing the examination. Since then, he had been stationed at the Central Police Station in Mandya.
Following in her father’s footsteps, Varsha decided to embark on a career in the police department. She passed the PSI examination in the 2022 batch and commenced her journey as a probationary PSI over the course of the past year.
Incidentally, Varsha was assigned to the Central Police Station, the very same station where her father had served. As she stepped into her new role, the station buzzed with anticipation and admiration.
